UConn officials this week are expected to ask the school’s Board of Trustees for $1 million to fund due diligence efforts on the Hartford Times Building, where school plans to move its West Hartford campus.
The planning budget request was outlined in an UConn Board of Trustees meeting agenda released Monday, which confirms that the school has targeted the Hartford Times building in downtown Hartford as its preferred location for its West Hartford campus.
The $1 million would pay for legal, architectural, and engineering teams to assist the school with relocation due diligence and planning, UConn said.
The UConn Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Storrs to consider the funding request.
Thirteen developers submitted proposals to house UConn’s West Hartford campus in the Capital City, but the school chose the Hartford Times building as its preferred site.
