There will be a victory parade Sunday afternoon in Hartford to celebrate the UConn women’s basketball team’s 10th NCAA championship, officials announced.
The parade — hosted by the state, city and Hartford Business Improvement District — will start at 3 p.m. at the State Capitol building and make its way to the XL Center for a rally at 3:30.
HBID is gathering private donations to help pay for the event.
Meanwhile, transportation provider Uber said it will provide free ride to and from Sunday’s festivities. Visitors who enter the promo code ‘CONNCHAMPS’ into their Uber mobile app will receive two free rides worth up to $25 each, Uber said.

The promotion is available in Hartford County only from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
