UConn School of Medicine said it has named Dr. Bruce Liang as dean.
The cardiologist and researcher has been at UConn Health since 2002, and served as interim dean in both 2011 and 2015. The Taiwan native has been director of the Pat and Jim Calhoun Center for Cardiology since 2003, and previously spent 13 years on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania.
Liang succeeds Dr. Frank Torti, who stepped down earlier this year to resume his research as a UConn faculty member.
Liang is a graduate of Harvard Medical School.
