The University of Connecticut’s School of Business is launching a new one-year MBA program.
The new program is in addition to UConn’s existing two-year MBA offerings, one of which is completely online and the other hybrid. The School currently serves 750 MBA students
The 42-credit one-year MBA program will offer entry points in the summer, fall or spring, according to UConn. Classes are offered in Hartford or Stamford, or online, and can be structured to allow students to remain employed as they study.
Students can select from seven concentrations, including: business analytics, business ethics and compliance; finance; general business; management; marketing and supply chain management.
According to a recent survey, after declines in enrollments and program completions from 2017 to 2020, enrollment in MBA programs around the country has started to increase again.
Validated Insights says that since 2020, enrollment has grown at a compound annual rate of 0.9%. The higher ed research firm predicts that MBA programs will grow more quickly, at more than 3% annually, through 2030.
