UConn’s dual basketball championships earlier this year will be commemorated on a cereal box available for sale starting today, officials announced.
‘Husky HerOes,’ a limited edition honey nut toasted oats cereal marketed by Pennsylvania’s PLB Sports, will be packaged in a box featuring an image of men’s coach Kevin Ollie on one side and women’s coach Geno Auriemma on the other.
There are 25,000 boxes available, PLB said.
The cereal, which is available at www.huskyheroescereal.com, comes in a two pack and costs $14.97 plus $9.95 for shipping.
Kyle Muncy, assistant director of athletics trademark, licensing and branding, said Thursday morning that the school’s licensing agency, Collegiate Licensing Co., will get a standard royalty of 12 percent of sales.
