UConn gives four CT schools equal preference for pharmacy program

The University of Connecticut is giving a leg up to students at four colleges in the Connecticut State University System who want to enroll in its School of Pharmacy program.

The program – which prepares students for a doctorate pharmacy program – can now take prerequisite courses at Eastern, Western, Southern and Central Connecticut State Universities. Under an agreement signed Oct. 31, those students will get the same admissions preference for the doctorate program as UConn students receive.

The doctorate program accepts 100 or fewer students a year and has traditionally given preference to UConn students.

UConn has had a similar agreement with University of Bridgeport for three years.
