The University of Connecticut’s largest-ever fundraising campaign has surpassed $900 million after the UConn Foundation said it completed the strongest fundraising year in its history.
The foundation announced Wednesday that its “Because of UConn” campaign crossed the $900 million mark on June 9, reaching more than 60% of its $1.5 billion goal.
The milestone came as the foundation closed fiscal year 2026, during which it raised $171 million, its most successful fundraising year ever, the organization said.
The announcement follows a leadership transition at the foundation. Earlier this month, Richard Eldh succeeded Amy Yancey as president and CEO after Yancey took a job to lead the Santa Clara University Foundation.
Since the campaign launched, donors have contributed $352.4 million to support faculty, graduate students and research; $221.3 million for scholarships, financial aid and student support services; $219.8 million for athletics; and $106.9 million for UConn Health and sustainability initiatives.
Overall, 69,655 donors have made nearly 277,000 gifts to the campaign, with 89% of donations totaling less than $1,000.
