The University of Connecticut Foundation Inc. raised more than $50 million in philanthropic support in fiscal 2011, its best in three years.
UConn’s endowment now stands at $312.5 million, up 19 percent from a year ago, the foundation said Wednesday.
The foundation said growing private support from alumni, friends, corporations and private foundations helped UConn overcome dwindling state funding and budget cuts due to the recession.
