There’s plenty to celebrate after 10 hours on the dance floor for students at the University of Connecticut, and patients and families from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. A record $100,120 was raised at the 10th annual HuskyTHON at the Hugh S. Greer Field House on the UConn Campus.
Peter M. Rosa, a program officer at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, received an award March 7 from the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education. Rosa, a West Hartford resident, accepted the Outstanding Support of Hispanic Issues in Higher Education Award at the association’s national conference in San Antonio.
United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut has announced $10,000 in Give Now Emergency Response Fund awards aimed at providing immediate assistance with food, shelter and utility costs. The recipients are Hands On Hartford, the Friendship Service Center of New Britain and Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford.
