Amy Yancey, president and CEO of the UConn Foundation, will leave the organization this summer to become president and CEO of the Santa Clara University Foundation in California.
Yancey, who joined the foundation in February 2024, will remain for several weeks to help with the leadership transition, according to an announcement Monday from UConn President Radenka Maric.
The UConn Foundation’s board of directors has appointed Richard Eldh as its next president and CEO, effective July 1. Eldh currently serves on the foundation’s board and is co-chair of the university’s “Because of UConn” fundraising campaign.
The leadership change comes as UConn continues its $1.5 billion capital campaign, which launched last year. University officials said the campaign has raised more than $900 million to date.
Maric credited Yancey with helping the foundation achieve record fundraising results during her tenure and said philanthropic support will remain important as the university faces rising expenses along with reductions in federal funding and continued state budget pressures.
A 1981 graduate of UConn’s School of Business, Eldh previously worked at Gartner and later co-founded SiriusDecisions, a business-to-business research and advisory firm that was acquired by Forrester Research in 2019. He has served on the UConn Foundation board and has supported university fundraising and scholarship initiatives.
