John Driscoll, senior vice president of Webster Private Bank and a 1981 graduate of the UConn College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, was recently awarded the UConn Alumni Association Service Award. For the past 12 years, Driscoll has served in various capacities including treasurer and president of the association and the UConn Club board of directors. He has served on numerous committees, as an ex-officio member of the UConn Foundation board of directors, and is a member of the foundation’s National Development Council.
In addition, Yvon Alexandre, president of J.P. Alexandre LLC and a 1982 graduate of the UConn School of Business, was awarded the UConn Alumni Association Humanitarian Award. For more than 15 years, Alexandre has made important contributions to the neighborhoods, businesses and people of Hartford. Along with serving on many civic and professional boards, he served as chairman of the Hartford Chamber of Commerce in 2008, while also serving on the City of Hartford’s Property Tax Reform Task Force. Following the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Alexandre, as head of the Connecticut Haitian American Organization, coordinated a massive fundraising effort to help Haitians affected.
Hughes Health earns national award
Hughes Health & Rehabilitation in West Hartford recently received the Silver — Achievement in Quality award for its outstanding performance in the healthcare profession from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The award highlights select facilities across the nation that serve as models of excellence in providing high-quality long term care. Hughes Health was one of 52 facilities nationwide to receive the silver-level award this year.
New Haven Chamber’s Ceccorulli honored
Rachele Ceccorulli, events coordinator and PULSE program manager for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, recently received the Sally Cady Staff Award from the Connecticut Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The award is named in memory of Sally Cady, an employee of the Milford chamber for 10 years. To qualify for the award, an individual must have spent three to five years on the staff of one or more chambers of commerce, and must exemplify “self-motivation, professionalism, customer service excellence and a desire to serve the chamber community.”
Horrigan appointed to board
Denis M. Horrigan, a partner at Connecticut Wealth Management, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford. Horrigan has more than 20 years of professional experience in the areas of financial planning and wealth management. During his two-year term, he will help the board oversee the council’s operations and educational programs. The council has 165 members consisting of CPAs, financial planners, attorneys, and trust officers. Its mission is to provide businesses and individuals with a better understanding of the estate and financial planning process.
HARC honors Cigna with employer award
Cigna recently received the Employer of the Year Award from HARC Inc. at its 61st annual meeting. The award is presented to a company or organization to honor outstanding effort and achievement in including people with intellectual disability into the workplace.
