Q&A:
What do you do and what are your goals in your current job? As an HR business partner I work closely with an organization's senior leaders to develop an HR agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the organization. I look forward to progressing into leadership roles to contribute even greater to the clients that I serve.
What are your goals for your community involvement? My passion is our community as a whole. I know that community service and volunteerism are an investment in our community and the people who live in it. My goal is uniting people from diverse backgrounds to work toward a common goal, which will allow the ability to build camaraderie and teamwork.
What's your biggest passion? My passion project is H.O.P.E. (Helping Ourselves Prepare for Employment). It's a career-readiness workshop that provides emphasis on building self-esteem, employability skills, job-search techniques, career exploration, resume writing, interviewing and job success skills.
What are your future aspirations? When I think about the future, the thing that is most clear to me is being able to continue to make a positive difference in the lives of others. I have been blessed with an amazing career, mentors, family, friends and community. By serving in higher levels of local government I would be able to make a positive impact in the lives of those in my community. Also, a trip to the International Space Station wouldn't be bad either.
