Two United Bank directors retire

CORRECTION: An earlier version incorrectly reported the bank board had shrunk to six.

A pair of directors for United Bank in Glastonbury have retired, shrinking its board to 16.

Thomas P. O’Brien, a Bristol funeral-home operator and a director of predecessor Rockville Bank for 14 years, and South Hadley, Mass., insurance executive Michael F. Werenski, who sat on United’s Massachusetts predecessor for 23 years, retired, effective Dec. 31, the bank said Thursday.

Their seats won’t be filled.
