Whether you’re hungry for chicken wings for dinner or warm cookies at 2 a.m., Hartford has two new eateries that can satisfy that craving.
Wingstop has opened its second location in the Capital City at 1888 Main St.
Meantime, Insomnia Cookies will hold a ribbon-cutting event for its new bakery at 247 Asylum St. on Friday. The cookie shop launched with a soft opening in late February, after its original opening date in early January was delayed.
Wingstop is a Texas-based chain known for its buffalo-style chicken wings, crispy chicken tenders, Cajun fried corn on the cob and Louisiana voodoo fries.
The new Wingstop restaurant is in a shopping plaza anchored by Save A Lot and Family Dollar. It’s in a space that previously housed Main Wah Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant.
Winstop has 14 locations in Connecticut and has been rapidly expanding its presence in the Nutmeg State.
Hartford is the only Connecticut municipality with two Wingstops. The other Hartford location, at 550 Farmington Ave., opened in 2015.
Insomnia Cookies caters to a college crowd of late-night snackers.Â
Open until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, it serves warm cookies, ice cream and other desserts, with takeout and delivery options.
Insomnia Cookies is located in a storefront space diagonally across from the service entrance to the XL Center.
It also has locations in Storrs, near UConn’s main campus, and in New Haven, near Yale University.
The Hartford location opens at 11 a.m. on weekdays and at noon on weekends.Â
On Friday, Insomnia Cookies will host a ribbon-cutting event featuring Mayor Arunan Arulampalam at 11 a.m.
