Two CT ShopRites get instore dietitian

ShopRite groceries in Canton and West Hartford are introducing a retail dietitian to help consumers with nutrition and to further differentiate the stores from competitors.

Store operator Joseph Family Markets said that, beginning immediately, registered dietitian Angela Corcoran will be available to assist shoppers to make healthier food choices.

Corcoran also will conduct free grocery shopping tours, healthy cooking classes, offer recipe and pantry makeovers and coordinate other health and wellness initiatives and nutritional programs in-store.

“Having a dietitian in store is just another way that we go above and beyond to provide value and service to our customers,” said store President Chuck Joseph.

Both locations are former Shaw’s Supermarkets that retail grocery cooperative Wakefern Food Corp. acquired earlier this year.

To make an appointment, customers can call 860-233-1713 or email Corcoran at angie.corcoran@wakefern.com.
