Capital Community College in Hartford and Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport will each receive federal grants of more than $2 million to develop training programs with area employers, Sen. Chris Murphy’s office announced.
The money comes from a $2 billion initiative overseen by the U.S. Department of Labor aimed at expanding training STEM fields, manufacturing and health care for unemployed workers.
The colleges will hire instructors, implement online learning tools, develop curricula and purchase new equipment.
