Tunxis launching energy-management program

Farmington-based Tunxis Community College said it has launched an energy-management associate’s degree program to produce needed energy analysts and technicians.

The program, which will begin in late August, includes six certificates covering skill sets such as HVAC energy analysis, energy accounting, and efficient lighting.

“Climate change and our need to reduce energy consumption in buildings has created new career opportunities for energy professionals,” Eric Gribin, director of Tunxis’ energy management program, said in a statement. “The rapid growth of commercial energy projects will continue to create long-term demand for qualified analysts in Connecticut and throughout the region.”
