NBCUniversal veteran Susan Tully is taking the reins as president and general manager of the TV-movie programming giant’s West Hartford affiliate, NBC Connecticut / WVIT.
Tully succeeds Ric Harris, who was promoted to the post in May 2013 but was recently named president/GM of NBCUniversal’s two Philadelphia TV stations, officials announced Friday. She and her family will be relocating to the Greater Hartford area.
Tully reports to Valari Staab, president of Stamford-based NBCUniversal’s Owned Television Stations division.
Tully has spent most of her 30-year career in local television, most recently as news vice president at NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXAS, a post she held for the last 14 years.
Tully holds a bachelor’s degree in radio, TV and film from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
