Hartford’s Trumbull Street will be revamped in a $6 million project, slated to begin mid-September, city officials said last week.
The “streetscape” will include new sidewalks, increased lighting, trees, trash cans and other changes, including wider pedestrian zones. Improvements will begin at the street’s end at Bushnell Park and continue to Interstate 84.
The cost will be covered by city bond money from the Capitol Improvements bond budget. The changes are an “investment for the people and future of downtown,” said Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez.
