Ridgefield-based Bow Tie Cinemas unveiled its latest “Ultimate-class” theater makeover on Wednesday at Trumbull’s Marquis 16 multiplex.
The renovated Marquis 16, at 100 Quarry Rd., features luxury reserved seating and a large-format BTX theater with Dolby ATMOS audio technology. A full bar and kitchen are also available to patrons, with cocktails, craft beer and expanded food offerings. Menu items include pesto pizza and Buffalo cauliflower.
About 140 people attended the Wednesday ribbon-cutting at the Trumbull theater, the fifth Ultimate-class makeover nationwide for the chain and the third in Connecticut.
Trumbull First Selectman Vicki Tesoro, State Rep. David Rutigliano (R-123) of Trumbull, Bridgeport Regional Business Council CEO Dan Onofrio, and Trumbull Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeff Bishop were among the attendees.
New Haven’s Bow Tie Criterion Cinemas on Temple Street got a lobby and concession upgrade this summer, including an expanded bar and dining menu, according to Bow Tie COO Joseph Masher. Elm City moviegoers can now snack on chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and other comestibles, along with cocktails like the “Bow Tai,” a twist on the mai tai.
Seating upgrades for the New Haven theaters are being considered for next year, he added. Next in line for a full renovation are the chain’s theaters in Stamford, the Landmark 9 and Majestic 6.
