Trinity’s first career development director

Former University of Chicago administrator J. Violet Gannon joins Hartford’s Trinity College as its inaugural director of career development, effective Feb. 18.

Gannon, former assistant dean and director of The University of Chicago Careers in Health Professions Program, will report to Mary Jo Keating, Trinity secretary and vice president for college relations.

Keating said Thursday the new post recognizes the critical role that career development will play in attracting new students to Trinity as well as helping fresh graduates and alumni advance their post-college career tracks.

Gannon began her career in higher education at her alma mater, Brown University’s Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies.
