Tribune Publishing’s 2Q profits fall

Hartford Courant parent Tribune Publishing, which split off as its own publicly traded company on Aug. 4, said second quarter profits dipped 31 percent, mainly on lower advertising revenue.

The company booked $15.2 million in profits, down from $21.9 million in the same quarter a year ago. Operating revenue fell 3.8 percent on lower advertising.

The recent quarter also included corporate management fees paid to former parent Tribune Media Co. and intercompany rent.
