The month of September was good to Connecticut’s tribal casino operators, which both posted slot revenue increases.
Foxwoods Resort Casino reported slot revenue of $40.1 million in Sept., a 3.8 percent increase compared to $38.6 million in the year-ago period. The amount slot bettors wagered in September, known as the “handle,” was $498.8 million, up 4.5 percent from the $477.2 million wagered in Sept. 2016.
Mohegan Sun increased its slot revenue 2 percent for the month to $51.8 million from $50.6 million in the year-ago period. Its handle spiked 9.6 percent to $652.7 million compared to $595.2 million in the year-ago period.
