Property and casualty insurer The Travelers Cos. said it has been tapped to manage the U.S. auto insurance claims for California ridesharing company Lyft.
Travelers, which has a major presence in downtown Hartford, on Wednesday said it will begin managing Lyft’s insurance claim services in the U.S. effective Feb. 1.
Billed as the nation’s fastest-growing rideshare company, the San Francisco-based company completes more than 10 million rides a week, officials said.
Launched in 2012, more than three years after Uber, Lyft operates in about 300 U.S. cities, including Hartford. The company expanded into Canada in Dec. 2017.
