Though it doesn’t sell health insurance, Travelers has found a way into the Obamacare market.
The property-casualty insurer, which has major Hartford operations, said it will offer liability insurance to businesses that cover potential civil fines that could result from noncompliance with the law.
The company cited a survey it conducted earlier this year with Nielsen Research that revealed 67 percent of businesses are not very familiar or only somewhat familiar with the law’s requirement for employers.
Travelers will offer fiduciary liability coverage, directors and officers liability coverage and employment practices liability coverage.
