Property-casualty insurer Travelers Cos., with major operations in Hartford, said Tuesday that its unveiling three new coverages for health care organizations that protect against risks associated with patient and employee safety as well as buildings and equipment.
The new property coverages will be available through Travelers IndustryEdge product for Healthcare Organizations and will include:
·       Communicable disease contamination coverage, which pays the costs to clean up and remove communicable disease contamination from a premise when mandated by an ordinance or law.
·       Condemnation of medical property, which pays for the loss of visibly undamaged medical property that a government regulatory authority has condemned as a direct result of a covered cause of loss.
·       Unintentional errors or omissions coverage, which extends insurance coverage when the insured unintentionally fails to report a location at the inception date of the policy period, or to report a newly acquired location after the automatic coverage period expires.
Travelers will be selling the policies through independent agents and brokers.
