The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has named former Travelers executive David A. Carter a senior vice president of property insurance for commercial markets.
In the newly created post, Carter, 48, reports to commercial markets President Douglas G. Elliot.
Carter most recently was vice president-property at Travelers Cos. Inc., where he held various leadership roles in 17 years there. He started his career as a property underwriter for Aetna.
The West Hartford resident holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
He is chairman of the board of administration and finance for the Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford and is also involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
