Insurer Travelers Co. says it has sent catastrophe-response teams to Oklahoma to help policyholders recover from damaging tornadoes.
Travelers has set up mobile claims offices in heavily damaged parts of Oklahoma City, the state capitol, and nearby suburban Norman, home of the University of Oklahoma.
Twisters that cut through the Plains Monday night left five people and dozens injured in Oklahoma, authorities said.
Travelers said the claims teams can issue checks or personalized debit cards to policyholders on the spot for instant access to cash to cover immediate needs for food, clothing and shelter.
