Bryson DeChambeau has committed to play in this year’s Travelers Championship, officials said, which means the Cromwell tournament will feature at least three of the world’s top five golfers.
DeChambeau is a five-time winner on the PGA Tour, including four victories in the last year, and is currently ranked fifth in the world golf rankings. This year’s Travelers tournament will mark his fourth appearance playing at TPC River Highlands.
The 25-year-old is the third player of a star-studded cast to sign onto the tournament from June 17 to 23.
Brooks Koepka, the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year who is currently ranked second, and Justin Thomas (ranked No.4), have already committed to this year’s event.
The early, high-profile commitments are no surprise for the Travelers Championship, which received the PGA Tour’s “Players Choice” award in 2017 and 2018.
In 2018, Bubba Watson won his third Travelers Championship title and donated $200,000 in winnings to the tournament’s nonprofit beneficiaries.
