Travelers Championship ready to welcome back fans in 2021; tickets on sale May 25

The Travelers Championship will be welcoming back fans this year, announcing Friday that tickets will go on sale May 25.

The annual PGA golf tournament will be held at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell June 23 through June 27. Organizers are expecting about 10,000 people each day, including players, tournament staff, fans and others.

Golf fans can buy tickets through the championship’s website. They will be available in two pricing tiers: grounds tickets cost between $50 and $70 ($50 for Wednesday, $65 for Thursday and Friday and $70 for Saturday and Sunday), and courtyard tickets cost between $150 and $280 ($150 for Wednesday, $260 for Thursday and Saturday and $280 for Friday and Sunday).

Fans at the tournament will have to adhere to COVID-19 precautions, including wearing masks unless eating or drinking, and following social distancing measures, the announcement said.

“There may be additional health and safety protocols in place for the tournament, however, since these guidelines are continuously being updated, changes will be communicated as needed,” the Travelers Championship said in an announcement.

Travelers Cos. CEO Alan Schnitzer announced in March the company would extend its sponsorship of the tournament through 2030.

Defending champion Dustin Johnson has committed to play in this year’s tournament, as have Bryson DeChambeau and three-time winner Bubba Watson, among others.

The Travelers Championship is staged each year in June at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell. Travelers has been the title sponsor since 2007.

The event was known as the Greater Hartford Open until 2004.
