The trauma team at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center knows firsthand the importance of having access to an adequate blood supply. Four units of blood are supplied daily to the trauma bay, equivalent to four people donating blood just to supply the room. Rolling up their sleeves and donating blood during the St. Francis Blood Drive are, from left, front row: Ellen Boucher, trauma specialist; Sandra Gifford, trauma registrar; Colleen Desai, trauma program manager; Marisol Feliciano, coordinator, violence and injury prevention program; Kelly Mar croft, trauma performance improvement nurse; back row: Zoë Huda, administrative assistant; trauma surgeons Scott Elmer and James Feeney, and William Marshall, director of trauma.
