Hamden printer and software maker TransAct Technologies said it has signed a reseller agreement with a Michigan company for worldwide distribution of its new printer for use in police cars and other emergency vehicles.
PrintekMobile will distribute TransAct’s Responder MP2, an eight-inch thermal printer that police can use to print citations in their vehicles.
Thermal printers use heat rather than ink to create images or text on specialized paper.
The TransAct printers sold by PrintekMobile will use the name Interceptor 800.
