After sitting vacant for about a year, a 43,813-square-foot former Big Lots store in Windsor is slated for transformation into a trampoline park.
“It’s really exciting for us to have a trampoline facility approved for the Big Lots space in the Windsor Shops,” Windsor Economic Development Director Patrick McMahon said. “It was a big hole. Strip retail spaces across the country are having challenges and if we can convert something like that into something family friendly, it will keep the lease value to the owner and stabilize the property.”
A proposal for a Fun Max Adventure Park for the vacant space in the Windsor Shops at 560 Windsor Ave. was approved by the town Planning and Zoning Commission at a Tuesday evening meeting.
The application was forwarded by Hibbard & Rosa Architects of Middletown.
According to a narrative accompanying the application, Fun Max Adventure Park will employ 25 people per shift, with two shifts per day between 10 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Fun Max Adventure Park operates locations in Middletown and Simsbury in Connecticut, as well as Wappingers Falls, New York.
