Tour company to stop at Twain, Beecher Stowe houses

Norwalk travel company Tauck announced Wednesday morning a new eight-day “Hidden Gems of New England” tour will make an stop in Hartford to visit the Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe houses, the 87-year-old company’s first tour with an overnight stay in Connecticut.

The tour costs $2,990 per person and includes stops at other locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Tauck made the announcement on Tuesday with documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, who helped design the tour, and Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who praised the boost to the state’s tourism industry.
