Top CT restaurateur buys Cheshire office building for several million dollars

A Cheshire office building has sold for several million dollars to a limited liability company controlled by one of the state’s best-known restaurateurs.

The 48,000-square-foot building, at 1781 Highland Ave., traded hands in late February, according to land records.

The land records didn’t specify a sales price, but it did disclose the new owner paid $8,375 in local and $41,875 in state conveyance taxes, which would equate to a sales price of $3.35 million.

The buyer was VR Offices LLC, which is controlled by Viron Rondos, who lists a business address at 1721 Highland Ave., in Cheshire. That’s the same address of the well-known Viron Rondo Osteria restaurant, which is owned by Viron Rondos.

Last year, Rondos publicly discussed plans to expand his current restaurant space by 30,000 square feet, according to media reports.
