The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $245,000 to three school bus fleets to pay for 11 new school buses that emit less pollution than older buses.
Killingly School District received $125,000, Montville Public Schools received $100,000, and the Martel Transportation company serving the Canton school district received $20,000 to replace buses in their fleets.
The three Connecticut school districts were among five in New England and 76 nationally that received $3 million from the EPA’s Diesel Emissions Reductions Act.
