Three CT nursing homes for sale

A court-appointed receiver is auctioning three Connecticut nursing homes that were part of the former Haven Healthcare chain.

Receiver Phyllis Belmonte, who is a licensed nursing home administrator, said April 14 is the bid deadline for the three homes that have been in receivership since last July, when the Haven chain folded.

The facilities are: Haven Health Centers of Norwich, licensed for 119 beds; Haven Health of Windham, with 124 beds; and Haven Health of the Danielson section of Killingly, with 190 beds.

Bids for one or more facilities will be considered, Belmonte said. All three have HUD-guaranteed mortgages. Real property and furnishings may also be bought or leased from the landlords, who are participating in this process, she said.

“Bidders’ positive operational experience and financial wherewithal will be key criteria for selection,” Belmonte said.

Prospective bidders can contact the receiver at bidprogram@mindspring.com to request a copy of the bid program. Interested parties are asked to provide the full name of principal and company (no brokers); mailing and email addresses; and phone and fax numbers.
