Thomaston Savings Bank offers new account for veterans, first responders

Thomaston Savings Bank on Wednesday launched a new checking account designed to recognize and support veterans, active-duty military members and first responders.

Called the Hometown Hero Account, it features no monthly maintenance fees and includes exclusive benefits, such as appraisal fee reimbursements and discounts on loan rates for eligible programs.

The account is part of the bank’s participation in the Veterans Banking Benefits Program and the Association of Military Banks of America.

Stephen Lewis, the bank’s president and CEO, said the account is the bank’s way of “expressing gratitude and providing meaningful financial support to the everyday heroes among us.”
