🔒Thomaston manufacturer acquired

Thomaston-based manufacturer Edward Segal Inc. has been acquired by Georgia-based Morito Scovill Americas, according to the buyer.

Segal is a maker of eyelet, grommet, rivet and snap fastener attaching machines, as well as custom-engineered automated assembly systems, serving a wide range of industries. Clarksville-based Morito Scovill Americas makes fasteners for apparel and light industrial applications.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Segal says the acquisition will allow it to gain access to expanded manufacturing and sourcing capabilities and enhanced operational support. The company will continue to operate with its existing team and customer relationships, according to Morito Scovill.
