Connecticut Water Service Inc. lifted second-quarter earnings 20 percent with the Clinton utility’s integration of its Maine Water Co. acquisition.
Connecticut Water netted $4.2 million, or 48 cents per share, in the second quarter, up from $3.5 million, or 41 cents per share, netted the second quarter a year ago.
The Maine acquisition from Aqua America added $355,000 to its bottom line in the period, the utility said Thursday. Aqua America sold the assets last New Year’s Day to Connecticut Water, which renamed it the Maine Water Co.
Second-quarter revenues were $21.3 million vs. $17.4 million a year ago.
