Theater Week begins Oct. 1 at six Greater Hartford venues

The Greater Hartford Arts Council’s inaugural Theater Week, a 14-day program meant to increase access to theatrical performances in the region, will begin Oct. 1.

Six theaters in the area will feature special performances:

• Hartbeat Ensemble – “Possessing Harriet”
• Hartford Stage – “Pride and Prejudice”
• Playhouse on Park – “The Complete Works of Jane Austen” abridged by Jessica Bedford, Kathryn MacMillan, Charlotte Northeast and Meaghan Winch
• TheaterWorks Hartford – “Lizzie”
• Little Theater of Manchester – “Howl of the Night”
• The Bushnell – “Mrs. Doubtfire”

From Oct. 1 to Oct. 14, there will be special discounts on tickets, backstage tours, conversations
with cast members, and workshops with screenwriters, directors and producers.
