Robert Griesmer is leaving his post as chief executive of The New Children’s Museum in West Hartford, to take the same slot of the Virginian Air and Space Center.
Museum Chairman Peter Stevens announced Friday Griesmer’s impending departure Nov. 1. Griesmer joined the museum in 2011 after lengthy service as chief operating officer at Norwalk Maritime Museum.
“Bob has helped us to right-size in difficult economic times while also articulating a most dynamic future for us,” Stevens said in a statement.
Plans for replacing Griesmer was not immediately disclosed.
