The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has signed a two-year alliance with a firm that enables fleet owners to improve vehicle safety and maintenance to help The Hartford’s customers do the same.
Terms of the deal between Hartford Ventures, The Hartford’s venture-capital arm, and GreenRoad of Redwood Shores, Calif., were not disclosed.
Investors in GreenRoad include British billionaire Richard Branson and Amadeus Fund.
GreenRoad helps customers improve driver safety and lower their overall vehicle operating costs through the use of in-vehicle feedback, coaching, web-based reporting and risk analysis tools.
