Newsweek magazine has named The Hartford Financial Services Group and Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair, Inc. among the greenest U.S. companies.
The Hartford was ranked No. 14 overall for reducing its environmental impact, managing its environmental waste, providing electric vehicle charging stations at its Connecticut locations, offering discounted insurance policies to electric vehicle owners, and allowing 4,000 employees to telecommute.
Praxair was ranked No. 151 overall and No. 1 in the S&P 500 Materials sector for its long-term growth strategy and its environmentally friendly technology developments.
This marks the fourth consecutive year Praxair was named in the Newsweek rankings.
