The Friendly Toast sets May 5 opening for first CT location in West Hartford

A New Hampshire-based brunch restaurant group is close to opening its first location in Connecticut.

The Friendly Toast, an “all-day brunch and bar,” said this week it plans to open its new, 3,000-square-foot location at 36 LaSalle Road in West Hartford Center on May 5. The site formerly was home to Division West Bistro, which closed in January 2024.

Offering brunch options, the new facility will seat up to 160 people, including 12 outdoors.

The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening with its traditional “egg-cracking” ceremony at 10 a.m. on May 5, followed by remarks from CEO Staci Pinard.

“As we expand across the Northeast, opening a new location in Connecticut was an obvious next step for us,” said Eric Goodwin, co-owner of The Friendly Toast.

The Connecticut location is the company’s 14th in New England. It has nine in Massachusetts, one in Burlington, Vermont, and one in Portland, Maine. It also plans to open a location in Concord, New Hampshire, this fall.
