Mission: TANGO is a purchasing cooperative created solely for the non-profit sector. Its mission is to channel the collective clout of the sector to provide its members with professional services at a below market price from partners who have been vetted in their expertise in working with non-profits.
Background: Rollin Schuster, president of Schuster Driscoll LLC, founded TANGO in 2007. The genesis of TANGO was a desire to help their non-profit clients to band together to leverage purchasing power for professional services such as employee benefits, marketing, public relations, endowment management, grant writing, fund raising, it support, legal & accounting, banking… any non-commodity service that would either save money or enhance the operation and efficiency of a non-profit. TANGO will also be hosting two annual networking events so that our members and partners have a place to interact with each other with no business agenda. Because we have members from every non-profit sector from hospitals to museums to associations and agencies, our unique position and ability to put them in the same room is extraordinary. TANGO currently has nearly 300 members and 14 professional service partners from Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York. TANGO also has a benefit called “Donation Depot” where businesses that have items to donate to non-profit’s can be matched together. All 501c non-profits are able to join TANGO for free. TANGO is funded by its partners. Some of TANGO’s current partners include Hartford area business such as Schuster Driscoll, Fathom, Private Capital Group, NetMark Associates and Co-Communications. TANGO has offices in Farmington, Boston, Mass. and is just starting up an office in Cincinnati, Ohio.
