Texas energy comparison website coming to CT

A website allowing businesses and residents to compare offers from competitive electricity and natural gas suppliers in April started expanding to Connecticut.

For the past decade, SaveOnEnergy.com has operated primarily in Texas but now will make a bigger push into other deregulated markets including Connecticut, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, Delaware, and Rhode Island.

The site partners with suppliers like Constellation and Direct Energy to offer exclusive rates for businesses and residents who sign up through the site.

Through deregulation of the utility industries in 1998, Connecticut businesses can choose to either use an electric or natural gas supplier instead of the default utility rate. Residential customer are limited to just electric suppliers.
