MedSolutions, a Tennessee firm that manages cardiac, imaging and other medical programs, said it has reached an agreement to acquire Plainville’s Triad.
Triad is a musculoskeletal specialty benefits management company that MedSolutions says fits nicely into its offerings, which promise to lower health care costs and improve quality.
Triad’s programs address pain management, spine and joint surgeries and physical medicine. Combined, those treatments make up 18 percent of commercial payers’ costs, 17 percent of Medicare costs and 10 percent of Medicaid costs, according to MedSolutions. The company said pain impacts 116 million Americans annually, costing the country up to $635 billion in health costs and lost productivity.
