Ted Kennedy Jr. will be the annual Dr. Kate Kuhn Woodbury Memorial lecturer Wednesday at St. Joseph College in West Hartford.
The son of the late Massachusetts U.S. senator will discuss what it was like living with cancer and losing a leg to the disease.
The lecture, sponsored by St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, will be at 6 p.m. at the Carol Autorino Center on the St. Joseph campus, 1678 Asylum Ave. A 5 p.m. reception will precede.
The lecture is a fundraiser for clinical cancer research at St. Francis in memory of Kate Kuhn Woodbury, M.D., an anesthesiologist who trained at the hospital, who died of ovarian cancer in 1996 at age 35.
