Techstars and Launc[H]artford to hold virtual Startup Week

After postponing a week-long conference for startup companies in the Greater Hartford area, Techstars and Launc[H]artford will hold a virtual version of the event later this month.

Techstars — a global startup accelerator — and Launc[H]artford — a consortium of businesses and startup accelerators in Hartford created under the state’s Innovation Places program — had planned to hold Techstars Startup Week Hartford in March, but had to put off the event due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The five-day virtual conference that starts Oct. 19  will include expert-led seminars, creativity workshops and networking events for entrepreneurs in the Greater Hartford area, according to Techstars.

“This event series offers emerging entrepreneurs in Hartford the best of both worlds: content developed by those who are committed to our community and the ability to tap into Techstars’ global network of expertise,’ ” said Michelle Cote, director of Launch[H]artford.

Other startup incubators in the city have also been forced to adopt an online-only approach during the pandemic.

The Techstars Startup Week Hartford will include speakers with deep ties to Hartford’s entrepreneurial community, including: Eric Brown of CBIA, Sarah Bodley of reSET, Christopher Day of First Line Consulting, Nathan Eusko of Verti Insurance, Laura Dinan Haber of Nassau Financial Group, Jeffrey Orszak of CONNSTEP, and Alice Margie Turner of Urban Tekk LLC.
